Vormetric Key Management is comprised of two elements: the Vormetric Data Security Manager and Vormetric Key Agent software.

Vormetric Data Security Manager

Vormetric Data Security Manager provides centralized management for Vormetric Key Management and functions as the key repository for Vormetric Key Management Key Vault. The Data Security Manager provides policy and key management in a FIPS 140-2 certified appliance. The Data Security Manager is a Hardware Security Module (HSM) that provides the console for both Vormetric Key Management and Vormetric Encryption.

Vormetric Key Agents

Vormetric Key Agent software integrates with Oracle Transparent Data Encryption and Microsoft SQL Server Transparent Data Encryption and communicates with the Vormetric Data Security Manager to provide key life cycle management for Master Encryption. Keys for Oracle Transparent Data Encryption and Database Encryption Keys for Microsoft SQL Server Transparent Data Encryption.

• Master Encryption Key (MEK) life cycle management for Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (HSM wallet)
• Database Encryption Key (DEK) life cycle management for Microsoft SQL Server Transparent Data Encryption
